The migrants had been present in forest the border Kanchanaburi, which borders Myanmar, at around 11pm Saturday. Troops from Ranger Company 1404 and police from Border Patrol Company 136 discovered the 30 males and 27 ladies who reportedly sneaked into Sai Yok area via a pure border crossing while they had been waiting for transport to pick them up.
Reports say the migrants claimed to have travelled from Myanmar’s Mawlamyine, Yangon, Dawei, and Rakhine states after paying between 18,000 and 25,000 baht to brokers for jobs in Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Sakhon. All have been charged with illegal entry and turned over to Sai Yok police for legal processes before being deported..
